About Verba

VERBA (“words” in Latin) is a jewellery brand by the Latvian designer Anna Fanigina. Words are the main source for inspiration to make jewellery, and each piece has an inscription in Latin. Latin with its meaningful and laconic ways of expression play a role in a peculiar “code” in the never-ending stream of messages to the humanity embedded on rings, earrings, and brooches…

The brand name originated from the phrase “adbibere verba pūrō pectore” – “accept words with pure heart” – depicting one of the main ideas of the brand: jewellery is not only a pretty object, but it is also a carrier of feelings, thoughts, philosophy as contributions from the heart.

Aesthetics of VERBA is based on transparency, ascetics, and simplicity. “Verum, simplex sincerumque sit, id esse naturae hominis aptissimum” – all that is natural, simple, and truthful fits best the human nature (Cicero).”
